Lucrative SEO - Key Steps to SEO

Seo is one of the most important things you can do online to get the free search engine traffic you hear so much about. Of course it isn’t really free, because you generally have to spend money to get it to work – to get to the top listings. And I am not talking about just ppc – I am talking about natural search engine results and organic search engine results – it takes a lot of work, and either you do the work yourself, or you hire someone to do it – and both of those options costs money.

Unless of course you don’t think your time is worth money. Mine is worth $75 per hour as of this writing (4-11-07) and it goes up every month – so if I spend an hour on seo, then it has cost me an hour. And if I pay anybody that thinks to do it, I am probably going to spend $75 per hour. Unless I get someone to just do the work for me, then it is $30 an hour. Do you see where I am going with this?

So now that we have established that, what are the keys to good seo?

1) On-page seo. That means your keywords in your title, description, keyword tag, and in your content. And no black hat stuff- do not do anything unethical in your seo, you will get caught and banned.

2) Off-page seo. This is inbound linking strategy. I like to use article marketing for this – just vary up the text on your text anchor links so that it doesn’t look like spam. And if you have a site that has good rankings already, only get one new link per week.

If you have a site that is just getting started – the more the merrier.
